How does EFT work?
Exactly how and why EFT works we are as yet unsure. I highly recommend
seeing the movie "What
the Bleep Do We Know!?" learn about the very real and
deepening link between quantum physics, neurobiology, human
consciousness and day-to-day reality. That is the best explanation for
why EFT works that we have so far.
We also know that there are 100s of thousands of documented cases of
outstanding results with very, very minimal reports of any side effects
or abreactions.
Think of EFT like electricity. (EFT is definitely about energy movement
so its a good metaphor). The average person does not know exactly how
electricity is generated or distributed to the point where we can flick
a switch and turn on a light. Yet we use it.
With the current studies in quantum physics building on the work of
Einstein we may understand how EFT works in another 10 years or so. You
could wait for another 10 years or more until we know exactly how and
why it works or, like electricity, you can start enjoying the benefits
today.
Do yourself a favour and see the movie "What the Bleep Do We
Know!?".

Does EFT work for _________?
(I'll let Gary Craig, the founder of EFT answer this one.)
Gary says, "You can fill in the blank with almost any ailment. Examples
have been....
Does EFT work on knee pain?
Does EFT work on snoring?
Does EFT work on Multiple Sclerosis?
Does EFT work on Reactive Attachment Disorder?
Does EFT work on animals?
Does EFT work on pre-verbal children?
Does EFT work on Alzheimer's Disease?
Does EFT work on Ritual Abuse?
And so on... with a list of thousands of ailments.
The answer to all these questions is...Yes! There is a high likelihood
that, properly applied, EFT will either improve or completely eliminate
the problem.
That does NOT mean, however, that EFT has been perfected to the point
where it can cure everything. On the contrary, we still have a lot
learn about its uses...AND... sometimes the results will depend on your
"EFT sophistication."
It DOES mean that we have seen improvements in such a wide variety of
ailments that it is no stretch to conclude that its uses are nearly
universal....although not yet perfect across the board.
This One-Procedure-Fits-All feature of EFT brings quizzical looks to
the faces of most newcomers because they have been conditioned to think
that, for each ailment, there is a specific remedy. Since there are
thousands upon thousands of human ailments, providing such specific
remedies is an impossible task.
Thus we take Panadol for a headache and Prozac for depression. Along
the same lines, there are specific medications (remedies) for
everything from arthritis to high blood pressure to Anxiety to Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder. There is even competition among advertisers
for which remedy is the best for a specific ailment (Tylenol vs. Advil,
for example).
So, newcomers become confused when they hear that the same EFT is used
for back pain is also used for grief, trauma, anger, carpal tunnel and
everything else. This notion doesn't fit with their previous
conditioning.
Nonetheless, that's how it is.
Note: While the same mechanical EFT is used for all ailments, the
APPROACHES to the various problems can differ widely. There is an "art
of delivery" which is necessary for complicated cases and this involves
finding core issues and aspects as well as appropriate reframing and
other artistic uses of this flexible tool.
EFT is not meant as a substitute for other healing procedures (even
though it often does the job by itself). Rather, you are encouraged to
use EFT as complementary to your existing health treatment.

Do you organize group EFT sessions?
When we have a group of people wanting similar things worked on we can
organize group sessions. If you have a group that you would like us to
work with, that can be arranged. Let us know what your needs are via
our contact us page.
* Borrowed Benefits, a neat by product
of EFT, simply stated, is the process that allows someone with little
or no experience in EFT to tap along while someone else who is
undergoing EFT (e.g. in a session, seminar, group or video) and often
experience profound benefits. This is true even though the issues being
tapped on appear to be widely different. This does NOT suggest that
professional help should be avoided. Rather, it proposes a tool that
could substantially aid the therapeutic process.

Is the order of tapping points important?
No. The points are usually described from the top of the body down because this is an easy way to remember them. This is one difference between EFT and other Energy Psychology treatments where the order of tapping is important.

How can EFT help with peak performance (sports, music, academics, art, writing, acting, speaking, sales, business and more)?
You
may have heard the story about running a 4 minute mile. At one stage in
our history, it was thought that it was not humanly possible to run a
mile in less then 4 minutes. Then an Australian, Roger Bannister, broke
this 4 minute barrier. Once other athletes new that is was possible,
they too broke the record. Now high-school students can often do it.
The only things limiting us is our beliefs and conditioning about what
we are truly capable of.
Top athletes in any sport have very little difference between their
skills. What separates the champions is their "mental game"; what goes
on in their head. In sports, this is called Sports Psychology yet the
same principles apply to all performers.
Peak Performers, like everyone else, are loaded negative self-talk and
emotions that serve to limit their performance. When a footballer lines
up to kick a goal, lots of self-talk is going through his head. Things
like "If I don't kick this goal we'll lose" or "I always have trouble
kicking a goal from this side of the field" or "We've lost the last 6
games, we're never going to make it to the finals". They pick up these
thoughts, notions and attitudes on their journey through life that,
once exposed, qualify as first-class comedies. This is the mental game
that EFT can help to change.
There are many potential points for applying EFT to enhance
performance. These include:
* Releasing tension/anxiety associated
with performance - Having performers visualise the situation beforehand
and apply EFT to any anxiety that comes up. EFT can be especially
useful to sort through any particularly difficult situations or
scenarios.
* Releasing the negative emotions and
effects of past failures. These can be systematically identified and
addressed with EFT. It is important also to seek out any negative
beliefs that may have developed out of these failures and address these
also.
* Addressing the performer's
self-image/identity, and eliminating any negative self-beliefs which
could hinder peak performance.
* Identifying and strengthening positive
self-beliefs and beliefs about performance by having the performer say
these and applying EFT to any resistance which comes up.
